We Moved! Our Next Chapter in Bonita Springs
After months of planning, packing, and emotional goodbyes, we officially moved into our new home in Bonita Springs! This move marks the start of a new season in our lives. We got engaged, we’re planning a wedding, and now we’re settling into a space that’s truly ours. A space where we can grow, breathe, and build a life that feels grounded in everything we love.
We left our cozy townhome in Naples for a single-family home just a short drive away. We’re now closer to downtown Bonita and the beach, which already feels like the perfect fit. There are restaurants we love, more outdoor space, and best of all, a yard for our dogs to run around in. It just feels right.
A Bittersweet Goodbye
Our actual move happened during a whirlwind week. On the last day in our old place, which also happened to be my birthday, we packed the final boxes and drove to Georgia for a wedding. When we got back, we stayed with my mom for a few days, finished up some last-minute pickups, and then closed on our new home. It was emotional, chaotic, and honestly a relief.
One of the most powerful moments came when we found a note in my dad’s handwriting on the wall of our old house. It was the last place he helped me move into. Seeing his writing one last time felt like a quiet nudge of support, his way of saying, “you’ve got this.”
How We’re Feeling Now
Right now, I’m in that weird space between energized and exhausted. I feel excited to set everything up and make this house our own, but after months of nonstop planning, events, and big changes, I’m craving routine—healthy meals, workouts, slow mornings. And let’s be honest, getting all these cardboard boxes out of the house is a top priority.
What We’re Tackling First
Our first focus is getting the main living spaces dialed in: our kitchen, living room, and primary bedroom. Having those spaces feel “done” always helps me feel more grounded, like we’re really home. I’m already dreaming up layouts, color palettes, and small upgrades I want to tackle first.
Tips for a Smoother Move
If you’re planning a move soon, here are a few things I swear by:
Use storage tubs for items that will stay in storage. Don’t bother unpacking and repacking them.
Label everything. I mean everything. I used color-coded labels for each room and it was a total game changer.
Give yourself grace. Moving is stressful, but it’s also a huge milestone. Take the time to enjoy the chaos. You’re building a new life.
What I’m Most Excited For
This home is already filled with potential. I can’t wait to start DIY projects, experiment with color, build a garden, and install a fence for the dogs. More than anything, I’m excited to fully live here and create something beautiful, peaceful, and truly ours.
Thanks for being here through it all. I can’t wait to share the process with you.
